These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God.

Your righteousness is righteous forever, and your law is true.

But you are near, O LORD, and all your commandments are true.

The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.

Mark the blameless and behold the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace.

And they came and said to him, "Teacher, we know that you are true and do not care about anyone's opinion. For you are not swayed by appearances,[3] but truly teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not? Should we pay them, or should we not?"

And they were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and statutes of the Lord.

So they asked him, "Teacher, we know that you speak and teach rightly, and show no partiality,[4] but truly teach the way of God.

to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.'

They shall teach Jacob your rules and Israel your law; they shall put incense before you and whole burnt offerings on your altar.

And of Levi he said, "Give to Levi[7] your Thummim, and your Urim to your godly one, whom you tested at Massah, with whom you quarreled at the waters of Meribah;

who said of his father and mother, 'I regard them not'; he disowned his brothers and ignored his children. For they observed your word and kept your covenant.

and in their mouth no lie was found, for they are blameless.

Now the sons of Eli were worthless men. They did not know the LORD.
