Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like:

But he said, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments.

So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."

If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious,

And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,

Blessed are those who wash their robes,[5] so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.

"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.

Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous.

If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

Therefore, brothers,[7] be all the more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.

All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.

Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.

yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.

And the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. But these have no root; they believe for a while, and in time of testing fall away.

And some fell into good soil and grew and yielded a hundredfold." As he said these things, he called out, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.[3]
