But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, "Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me."

Now when it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a desolate place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves."

And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, "Far be it from you, Lord![5] This shall never happen to you."

And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, "He is out of his mind."

Now as they went on their way, Jesus[4] entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house.

But the Lord answered her, "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things

And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried.

But he turned and rebuked them.[6]

Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.

Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

So they gave a dinner for him there. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those reclining with him at the table.

Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal."
