Leviticus 21:8

You shall sanctify him, for he offers the bread of your God. He shall be holy to you, for I, the LORD, who sanctify you, am holy.

Remember them, O my God, because they have desecrated the priesthood and the covenant of the priesthood and the Levites.

the LORD said to Moses, "Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments

So Moses went down from the mountain to the people and consecrated the people; and they washed their garments.

And you shall put them on Aaron your brother, and on his sons with him, and shall anoint them and ordain them and consecrate them, that they may serve me as priests.

"Now this is what you shall do to them to consecrate them, that they may serve me as priests. Take one bull of the herd and two rams without blemish,

"Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them, You shall be holy, for I the LORD your God am holy.

They shall be holy to their God and not profane the name of their God. For they offer the LORD's food offerings, the bread of their God; therefore they shall be holy.

and so cause them to bear iniquity and guilt, by eating their holy things: for I am the LORD who sanctifies them."

And the priest shall burn it on the altar as a food offering to the LORD.

By offering polluted food upon my altar. But you say, 'How have we polluted you?' By saying that the LORD's table may be despised.

"Command the people of Israel and say to them, 'My offering, my food for my food offerings, my pleasing aroma, you shall be careful to offer to me at its appointed time.'

do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?

And for their sake I consecrate myself,[3] that they also may be sanctified[4] in truth.

How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?

For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.
