Leviticus 17:11

For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life.

But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.

Then he shall kill the bull before the LORD, and Aaron's sons the priests shall bring the blood and throw the blood against the sides of the altar that is at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

And all its fat he shall burn on the altar, like the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings. So the priest shall make atonement for him for his sin, and he shall be forgiven.

And he[2] killed it, and Moses took the blood, and with his finger put it on the horns of the altar around it and purified the altar and poured out the blood at the base of the altar and consecrated it to make atonement for it.

even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

for this is my blood of the[3] covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

And he said to them, "This is my blood of the[3] covenant, which is poured out for many.

whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.

Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,

Only be sure that you do not eat the blood, for the blood is the life, and you shall not eat the life with the flesh.

in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood.

Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.

and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood
