So Joshua said to the people of Israel, "How long will you put off going in to take possession of the land, which the LORD, the God of your fathers, has given you?

A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.

The soul of the sluggard craves and gets nothing, while the soul of the diligent is richly supplied.

The way of a sluggard is like a hedge of thorns, but the path of the upright is a level highway.

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might,[2] for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.

On that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: "Fear not, O Zion; let not your hands grow weak.

And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing. And he said to them, 'Why do you stand here idle all day?'

Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal."

Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them.

Now Joshua was old and advanced in years, and the LORD said to him, "You are old and advanced in years, and there remains yet very much land to possess.

There remained among the people of Israel seven tribes whose inheritance had not yet been apportioned.

Provide three men from each tribe, and I will send them out that they may set out and go up and down the land. They shall write a description of it with a view to their inheritances, and then come to me.

They said, "Arise, and let us go up against them, for we have seen the land, and behold, it is very good. And will you do nothing? Do not be slow to go, to enter in and possess the land.
