Philip answered him, "Two hundred denarii[1] would not buy enough bread for each of them to get a little."

But his servant said, "How can I set this before a hundred men?" So he repeated, "Give them to the men, that they may eat, for thus says the LORD, 'They shall eat and have some left.' "

But when that same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii,[11] and seizing him, he began to choke him, saying, 'Pay what you owe.'

But he answered them, "You give them something to eat." And they said to him, "Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii[6] worth of bread and give it to them to eat?"

The next day Jesus decided to go to Galilee. He found Philip and said to him, "Follow me."

Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found him of whom Moses in the Law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph."

Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see."

Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."

"Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii[2] and given to the poor?"
