When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs."

And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.

"See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.[4]

Peter answered him, "Though they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away."

Peter said to him, "Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you!" And all the disciples said the same.

Peter said to him, "Even though they all fall away, I will not."

"Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers."

He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "So you are Simon the son of John? You shall be called Cephas" (which means Peter[9] ).

Peter said to him, "Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you."

for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.[1]

Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast." Now none of the disciples dared ask him, "Who are you?" They knew it was the Lord.

That disciple whom Jesus loved therefore said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment, for he was stripped for work, and threw himself into the sea.

Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but He sent me.

Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God,[3] which he obtained with his own blood.[4]

I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock;

As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions.

We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

And so by your knowledge this weak person is destroyed, the brother for whom Christ died.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love.

so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.

Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love incorruptible.

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant,

And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,

Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up to salvation --

For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

We love because he first loved us.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him.

and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you as your works deserve.
