And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son. And he took in his hand the fire and the knife. So they went both of them together.

And the two worthless men came in and sat opposite him. And the worthless men brought a charge against Naboth in the presence of the people, saying, "Naboth cursed God and the king." So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death with stones.

"Bring out of the camp the one who cursed, and let all who heard him lay their hands on his head, and let all the congregation stone him.

And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

Then Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

And over his head they put the charge against him, which read, "This is Jesus, the King of the Jews."

And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, "You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me."

And the inscription of the charge against him read, "The King of the Jews."

Let the Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross that we may see and believe." Those who were crucified with him also reviled him.

And he called to him the crowd with his disciples and said to them, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.

And as they led him away, they seized one Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, and laid on him the cross, to carry it behind Jesus.

And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left.

There was also an inscription over him,[3] "This is the King of the Jews."

And he said to all, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.

So when Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called The Stone Pavement, and in Aramaic[1] Gabbatha.

Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, in Aramaic[1] called Bethesda,[2] which has five roofed colonnades.

Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.
