Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant[3] and cut off his right ear. (The servant's name was Malchus.)
But one of those who stood by drew his sword and struck the servant[5] of the high priest and cut off his ear.
One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, asked, "Did I not see you in the garden with him?"
Peter[5] said to him, "Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death."
And Jesus said to him, "Truly, I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times."
