For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness.

So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,"[1]

And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us.

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

This is he who came by water and blood -- Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, "You must not do that! I am a fellow servant[3] with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God." For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
