With fierceness and rage he swallows the ground; he cannot stand still at the sound of the trumpet.

I smiled on them when they had no confidence, and the light of my face they did not cast down.

Shall it be told him that I would speak? Did a man ever wish that he would be swallowed up?

Upon him rattle the quiver, the flashing spear and the javelin.

When the trumpet sounds, he says 'Aha!' He smells the battle from afar, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.

If I summoned him and he answered me, I would not believe that he was listening to my voice.

My anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain! Oh the walls of my heart! My heart is beating wildly; I cannot keep silent, for I hear the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.

I have paid attention and listened, but they have not spoken rightly; no man relents of his evil, saying, 'What have I done?' Everyone turns to his own course, like a horse plunging headlong into battle.

Is a trumpet blown in a city, and the people are not afraid? Does disaster come to a city, unless the LORD has done it?

And while they still disbelieved for joy and were marveling, he said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?"
