"Lay down a pledge for me with yourself; who is there who will put up security for me?

I will be a pledge of his safety. From my hand you shall require him. If I do not bring him back to you and set him before you, then let me bear the blame forever.

For your servant became a pledge of safety for the boy to my father, saying, 'If I do not bring him back to you, then I shall bear the blame before my father all my life.'

"Call now; is there anyone who will answer you? To which of the holy ones will you turn?

There is no[4] arbiter between us, who might lay his hand on us both.

Give your servant a pledge of good; let not the insolent oppress me.

Whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer harm, but he who hates striking hands in pledge is secure.

One who lacks sense gives a pledge and puts up security in the presence of his neighbor.

Take a man's garment when he has put up security for a stranger, and hold it in pledge when he puts up security for foreigners.[4]

Be not one of those who give pledges, who put up security for debts.

and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.

Like a swallow or a crane I chirp; I moan like a dove. My eyes are weary with looking upward. O Lord, I am oppressed; be my pledge of safety!

This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant.
