"Should a multitude of words go unanswered, and a man full of talk be judged right?

Then Zophar the Naamathite answered and said:

"Should a wise man answer with windy knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind?

Shall windy words have an end? Or what provokes you that you answer?

"How long will you hunt for words? Consider, and then we will speak.

"How long will you say these things, and the words of your mouth be a great wind?

Let not the slanderer be established in the land; let evil hunt down the violent man speedily!

When words are many, transgression is not lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.

[1] Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil.

For a dream comes with much business, and a fool's voice with many words.

Some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers also conversed with him. And some said, "What does this babbler wish to say?" Others said, "He seems to be a preacher of foreign divinities" -- because he was preaching Jesus and the resurrection.

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;
