"Hear this, O foolish and senseless people, who have eyes, but see not, who have ears, but hear not.

Understand, O dullest of the people! Fools, when will you be wise?

Why should a fool have money in his hand to buy wisdom when he has no sense?

When its boughs are dry, they are broken; women come and make a fire of them. For this is a people without discernment; therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them; he who formed them will show them no favor.

Bring out the people who are blind, yet have eyes, who are deaf, yet have ears!

They know not, nor do they discern, for he has shut their eyes, so that they cannot see, and their hearts, so that they cannot understand.

They are both stupid and foolish; the instruction of idols is but wood!

"For my people are foolish; they know me not; they are stupid children; they have no understanding. They are 'wise' -- in doing evil! But how to do good they know not."

Declare this in the house of Jacob; proclaim it in Judah:

Then I said, "These are only the poor; they have no sense; for they do not know the way of the LORD, the justice of their God.

To whom shall I speak and give warning, that they may hear? Behold, their ears are uncircumcised, they cannot listen; behold, the word of the LORD is to them an object of scorn; they take no pleasure in it.

And now, because you have done all these things, declares the LORD, and when I spoke to you persistently you did not listen, and when I called you, you did not answer,

Even the stork in the heavens knows her times, and the turtledove, swallow, and crane[1] keep the time of their coming, but my people know not the rules of the LORD.

"Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, who have eyes to see, but see not, who have ears to hear, but hear not, for they are a rebellious house.

Ephraim is like a dove, silly and without sense, calling to Egypt, going to Assyria.

But they refused to pay attention and turned a stubborn shoulder and stopped their ears that they might not hear.[1]

so that "they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand, lest they should turn and be forgiven."

Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear? And do you not remember?

"He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and turn, and I would heal them."

But to this day the LORD has not given you a heart to understand or eyes to see or ears to hear.

Do you thus repay the LORD, you foolish and senseless people? Is not he your father, who created you, who made you and established you?
