Jeremiah 20:4

For thus says the LORD: Behold, I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends. They shall fall by the sword of their enemies while you look on. And I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon. He shall carry them captive to Babylon, and shall strike them down with the sword.

How they are destroyed in a moment, swept away utterly by terrors!

This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who stubbornly follow their own heart and have gone after other gods to serve them and worship them, shall be like this loincloth, which is good for nothing.

Why have I seen it? They are dismayed and have turned backward. Their warriors are beaten down and have fled in haste; they look not back -- terror on every side! declares the LORD.

And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold;

And the king of Babylon struck them down, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was taken into exile out of its land.

Go not out into the field, nor walk on the road, for the enemy has a sword; terror is on every side.

The only one of you whom I shall not cut off from my altar shall be spared to weep his[3] eyes out to grieve his heart, and all the descendants[4] of your house shall die by the sword of men.[5]
