When evildoers assail me to eat up my flesh, my adversaries and foes, it is they who stumble and fall.

The LORD helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.

O you who love the LORD, hate evil! He preserves the lives of his saints; he delivers them from the hand of the wicked.

For the ruthless shall come to nothing and the scoffer cease, and all who watch to do evil shall be cut off,

But the multitude of your foreign foes shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the ruthless like passing chaff. And in an instant, suddenly,

I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh, and they shall be drunk with their own blood as with wine. Then all flesh shall know that I am the LORD your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob."

no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD and their vindication[5] from me, declares the LORD."

You shall suck the milk of nations; you shall nurse at the breast of kings; and you shall know that I, the LORD, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

The word of the LORD came to me:

Sing to the LORD; praise the LORD! For he has delivered the life of the needy from the hand of evildoers.

But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah so that he was not given over to the people to be put to death.

For the LORD has ransomed Jacob and has redeemed him from hands too strong for him.

And Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard until the day that Jerusalem was taken.

Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon gave command concerning Jeremiah through Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, saying,

"Take him, look after him well, and do him no harm, but deal with him as he tells you."

Their Redeemer is strong; the LORD of hosts is his name. He will surely plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, but unrest to the inhabitants of Babylon.

If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.[4]

He answered and said, "But I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods."

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.[4]

The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again.
