James 4:11

Do not speak evil against one another, brothers.[3] The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.

Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.

Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door.

"Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;

Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God.

Let not the slanderer be established in the land; let evil hunt down the violent man speedily!

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.

For I fear that perhaps when I come I may find you not as I wish, and that you may find me not as you wish -- that perhaps there may be quarreling, jealousy, anger, hostility, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder.

Their wives[4] likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things.

What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, "You shall not covet."

For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.

But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.

Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good,

Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers.

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;

If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself," you are doing well.

Be patient, therefore, brothers,[1] until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.

As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.
