James 3:1

Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.

Jesus answered him, "Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things?

Now there were in the church at Antioch prophets and teachers, Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger,[1] Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a member of the court of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.

And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,[1]

desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions.

For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.

Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers.

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;

From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers,[3] these things ought not to be so.

not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.
