Then the earth reeled and rocked; the foundations also of the mountains trembled and quaked, because he was angry.

Behold, I make of you a threshing sledge, new, sharp, and having teeth; you shall thresh the mountains and crush them, and you shall make the hills like chaff;

who says to the deep, 'Be dry; I will dry up your rivers';

And I will make all my mountains a road, and my highways shall be raised up.

Why, when I came, was there no man; why, when I called, was there no one to answer? Is my hand shortened, that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, by my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a desert; their fish stink for lack of water and die of thirst.

I looked on the mountains, and behold, they were quaking, and all the hills moved to and fro.

For in my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, On that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.

The fish of the sea and the birds of the heavens and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep on the ground, and all the people who are on the face of the earth, shall quake at my presence. And the mountains shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall tumble to the ground.

For thus says the LORD of hosts: Yet once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land.

He shall pass through the sea of troubles and strike down the waves of the sea, and all the depths of the Nile shall be dried up. The pride of Assyria shall be laid low, and the scepter of Egypt shall depart.

And at that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up, to prepare the way for the kings from the east.

And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings,[3] peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake.

Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.
