As waters fail from a lake and a river wastes away and dries up,

the waters of Nimrim are a desolation; the grass is withered, the vegetation fails, the greenery is no more.

He has stretched out his hand over the sea; he has shaken the kingdoms; the LORD has given command concerning Canaan to destroy its strongholds.

He shall pass through the sea of troubles and strike down the waves of the sea, and all the depths of the Nile shall be dried up. The pride of Assyria shall be laid low, and the scepter of Egypt shall depart.

And if the family of Egypt does not go up and present themselves, then on them there shall be no rain;[6] there shall be the plague with which the LORD afflicts the nations that do not go up to keep the Feast of Booths.
