Where then are your wise men? Let them tell you that they might know what the LORD of hosts has purposed against Egypt.

The LORD of hosts has sworn: "As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand,

Who is like me? Let him proclaim it.[1] Let him declare and set it before me, since I appointed an ancient people. Let them declare what is to come, and what will happen.

Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!

But where are your gods that you made for yourself? Let them arise, if they can save you, in your time of trouble; for as many as your cities are your gods, O Judah.

Will I not on that day, declares the LORD, destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of Mount Esau?

For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, "For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth."

Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

Then Zebul said to him, "Where is your mouth now, you who said, 'Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him?' Are not these the people whom you despised? Go out now and fight with them."
