Saul also went to his home at Gibeah, and with him went men of valor whose hearts God had touched.

When the messengers came to Gibeah of Saul, they reported the matter in the ears of the people, and all the people wept aloud.

And Saul and Jonathan his son and the people who were present with them stayed in Geba of Benjamin, but the Philistines encamped in Michmash.

Saul chose three thousand men of Israel. Two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and the hill country of Bethel, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin. The rest of the people he sent home, every man to his tent.

And the garrison of the Philistines went out to the pass of Michmash.

Saul was staying in the outskirts of Gibeah in the pomegranate cave[1] at Migron. The people who were with him were about six hundred men,

Within the passes, by which Jonathan sought to go over to the Philistine garrison, there was a rocky crag on the one side and a rocky crag on the other side. The name of the one was Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.

The one crag rose on the north in front of Michmash, and the other on the south in front of Geba.

Then Samuel went to Ramah, and Saul went up to his house in Gibeah of Saul.

Then he would return to Ramah, for his home was there, and there also he judged Israel. And he built there an altar to the LORD.
