Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth; for the LORD has spoken: "Children[1] have I reared and brought up, but they have rebelled against me.

I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,

Hear, you peoples, all of you;[1] pay attention, O earth, and all that is in it, and let the Lord GOD be a witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple.

I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that you will soon utterly perish from the land that you are going over the Jordan to possess. You will not live long in it, but will be utterly destroyed.

He calls to the heavens above and to the earth, that he may judge his people:

"A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a father, where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says the LORD of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. But you say, 'How have we despised your name?'

But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the LORD, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression and to Israel his sin.

Hear this word that the LORD has spoken against you, O people of Israel, against the whole family that I brought up out of the land of Egypt:

therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD: Thus says the Lord GOD to the mountains and the hills, the ravines and the valleys, the desolate wastes and the deserted cities, which have become a prey and derision to the rest of the nations all around,

O land, land, land, hear the word of the LORD!

Hear, O earth; behold, I am bringing disaster upon this people, the fruit of their devices, because they have not paid attention to my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it.

I spread out my hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices;

For they are a rebellious people, lying children, children unwilling to hear the instruction of the LORD;

"Ah, stubborn children," declares the LORD, "who carry out a plan, but not mine, and who make an alliance,[1] but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin;

With weeping they shall come, and with pleas for mercy I will lead them back, I will make them walk by brooks of water, in a straight path in which they shall not stumble, for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

Hear and give ear; be not proud, for the LORD has spoken.

and in the wilderness, where you have seen how the LORD your God carried you, as a man carries his son, all the way that you went until you came to this place.'

for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard."

Hear this, all peoples! Give ear, all inhabitants of the world,

Turn to him from whom people[2] have deeply revolted, O children of Israel.

Draw near, O nations, to hear, and give attention, O peoples! Let the earth hear, and all that fills it; the world, and all that comes from it.

For you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us; you, O LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is your name.

"Return, O faithless sons; I will heal your faithlessness." "Behold, we come to you, for you are the LORD our God.

And utter a parable to the rebellious house and say to them, Thus says the Lord GOD: "Set on the pot, set it on; pour in water also;

He abandoned the LORD, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the LORD.

The word of the LORD that came to Micah of Moresheth in the days of Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, which he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.
