Set the trumpet to your lips! One like a vulture is over the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant and rebelled against my law.

Declare in Judah, and proclaim in Jerusalem, and say, "Blow the trumpet through the land; cry aloud and say, 'Assemble, and let us go into the fortified cities!'

For thus says the LORD: "Behold, one shall fly swiftly like an eagle and spread his wings against Moab;

Behold, one shall mount up and fly swiftly like an eagle and spread his wings against Bozrah, and the heart of the warriors of Edom shall be in that day like the heart of a woman in her birth pains."

"Set up a standard on the earth; blow the trumpet among the nations; prepare the nations for war against her; summon against her the kingdoms, Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz; appoint a marshal against her; bring up horses like bristling locusts.

But like Adam they transgressed the covenant; there they dealt faithlessly with me.

Blow a trumpet in Zion; sound an alarm on my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of the LORD is coming; it is near,

Blow the trumpet in Zion; consecrate a fast; call a solemn assembly;

Is a trumpet blown in a city, and the people are not afraid? Does disaster come to a city, unless the LORD has done it?

The songs of the temple[2] shall become wailings[3] in that day," declares the Lord GOD. "So many dead bodies!" "They are thrown everywhere!" "Silence!"

I saw the LORD standing beside[1] the altar, And he said: "Strike the capitals until the thresholds shake, and shatter them on the heads of all the people;[2] and those who are left of them I will kill with the sword; not one of them shall flee away; not one of them shall escape.

Their horses are swifter than leopards, more fierce than the evening wolves; their horsemen press proudly on. Their horsemen come from afar; they fly like an eagle swift to devour.

a day of trumpet blast and battle cry against the fortified cities and against the lofty battlements.

Open your doors, O Lebanon, that the fire may devour your cedars!

Then the LORD will appear over them, and his arrow will go forth like lightning; the Lord GOD will sound the trumpet and will march forth in the whirlwinds of the south.

Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.

in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.

The LORD will bring a nation against you from far away, from the end of the earth, swooping down like the eagle, a nation whose language you do not understand,
