Blow the horn in Gibeah, the trumpet in Ramah. Sound the alarm at Beth-aven; we follow you,[2] O Benjamin!

Set the trumpet to your lips! One like a vulture is over the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant and rebelled against my law.

They have deeply corrupted themselves as in the days of Gibeah: he will remember their iniquity; he will punish their sins.

Blow a trumpet in Zion; sound an alarm on my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of the LORD is coming; it is near,

Is a trumpet blown in a city, and the people are not afraid? Does disaster come to a city, unless the LORD has done it?

Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is near Beth-aven, east of Bethel, and said to them, "Go up and spy out the land." And the men went up and spied out Ai.

From Ephraim their root they marched down into the valley,[3] following you, Benjamin, with your kinsmen; from Machir marched down the commanders, and from Zebulun those who bear the lieutenant's[4] staff;

Then Samuel went to Ramah, and Saul went up to his house in Gibeah of Saul.

Then he would return to Ramah, for his home was there, and there also he judged Israel. And he built there an altar to the LORD.

Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah
