So Jacob called the name of the place where God had spoken with him Bethel.

And he blessed Joseph and said, "The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has been my shepherd all my life long to this day,

He turned the sea into dry land; they passed through the river on foot. There did we rejoice in him,

In all their affliction he was afflicted,[3] and the angel of his presence saved them; in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.

"Behold, I send my messenger and he will prepare the way before me. And the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, behold, he is coming, says the LORD of hosts.

Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

In the days of his flesh, Jesus[1] offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.
