Esau said, "I am about to die; of what use is a birthright to me?"

Jacob said, "Sell me your birthright now."

Jacob said, "Swear to me now." So he swore to him and sold his birthright to Jacob.

Esau said, "Is he not rightly named Jacob?[1] For he has cheated me these two times. He took away my birthright, and behold, now he has taken away my blessing." Then he said, "Have you not reserved a blessing for me?"

What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? And what profit do we get if we pray to him?'

They said to God, 'Depart from us,' and 'What can the Almighty do to us?'[1]

You have said, 'It is vain to serve God. What is the profit of our keeping his charge or of walking as in mourning before the LORD of hosts?
