Then the LORD God said, "It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for[5] him."

The man gave names to all livestock and to the birds of the heavens and to every beast of the field. But for Adam[7] there was not found a helper fit for him.

The man said, "The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me fruit of the tree, and I ate."

He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD.

If anyone thinks that he is not behaving properly toward his betrothed,[9] if his[10] passions are strong, and it has to be, let him do as he wishes: let them marry -- it is no sin.

Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you[1] of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.

Then Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, "My daughter, should I not seek rest for you, that it may be well with you?
