And God called the expanse Heaven.[2] And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.

[1] "You are the LORD, you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them; and you preserve all of them; and the host of heaven worships you.

He has inscribed a circle on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness.

He stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing.

He lays the beams of his chambers on the waters; he makes the clouds his chariot; he rides on the wings of the wind;

He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap; he puts the deeps in storehouses.

The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

All streams run to the sea, but the sea is not full; to the place where the streams flow, there they flow again.

Do you not fear me? declares the LORD; Do you not tremble before me? I placed the sand as the boundary for the sea, a perpetual barrier that it cannot pass; though the waves toss, they cannot prevail; though they roar, they cannot pass over it.

And he said to them, "I am a Hebrew, and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land."

For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God,

and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and what is in it, the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it, that there would be no more delay,
