And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among the flocks of sheep, which, when it goes through, treads down and tears in pieces, and there is none to deliver.
Thus says the LORD: "As the shepherd rescues from the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear, so shall the people of Israel who dwell in Samaria be rescued, with the corner of a couch and part[2] of a bed.
Then I said, "Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I have never defiled myself.[6] From my youth up till now I have never eaten what died of itself or was torn by beasts, nor has tainted meat come into my mouth."
