Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water."

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.

No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

And he said, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father."

from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses.

And when they arrived and gathered the church together, they declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.

But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will."

One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul.

And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."

But how are they to call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?[3] And how are they to hear without someone preaching?

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

That is why it depends on faith, in order that the promise may rest on grace and be guaranteed to all his offspring -- not only to the adherent of the law but also to the one who shares the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,

And to the one who does not work but trusts him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness,

So then it depends not on human will or exertion,[2] but on God, who has mercy.

so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.

But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ -- by grace you have been saved --

For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake,

having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead.

They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from[2] the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might,

For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit,

who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
