Whatever has come to be has already been named, and it is known what man is, and that he is not able to dispute with one stronger than he.

But the LORD God called to the man and said to him, "Where are you?"[3]

Why do you contend against him, saying, 'He will answer none of man's[1] words'?[2]

"Shall a faultfinder contend with the Almighty? He who argues with God, let him answer it."

For he is not a man, as I am, that I might answer him, that we should come to trial together.

As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field;

Surely a man goes about as a shadow! Surely for nothing[2] they are in turmoil; man heaps up wealth and does not know who will gather!

No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel can avail against the LORD.

That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.[1]

The more words, the more vanity, and what is the advantage to man?

Behold, like a lion coming up from the jungle of the Jordan against a perennial pasture, I will suddenly make him[3] run away from her. And I will appoint over her whomever I choose. For who is like me? Who will summon me? What shepherd can stand before me?

Shall we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
