Deuteronomy 9:23

And when the LORD sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying, 'Go up and take possession of the land that I have given you,' then you rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God and did not believe him or obey his voice.

But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit; therefore he turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them.

The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

Then all the congregation raised a loud cry, and the people wept that night.

And all the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The whole congregation said to them, "Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would that we had died in this wilderness!

Only do not rebel against the LORD. And do not fear the people of the land, for they are bread for us. Their protection is removed from them, and the LORD is with us; do not fear them."

It is eleven days' journey from Horeb by the way of Mount Seir to Kadesh-barnea.

And he said, 'I will hide my face from them; I will see what their end will be, For they are a perverse generation, children in whom is no faithfulness.

For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.[1]
