For you are a people holy to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.

The LORD will establish you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in his ways.

Yes, he loved his people,[3] all his holy ones were in his[4] hand; so they followed[5] in your steps, receiving direction from you,

But the LORD has taken you and brought you out of the iron furnace, out of Egypt, to be a people of his own inheritance, as you are this day.

It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the LORD set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples,

who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
