For the land that you are entering to take possession of it is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you sowed your seed and irrigated it,[2] like a garden of vegetables.

Those who are the pillars of the land will be crushed, and all who work for pay will be grieved.

I dug wells and drank waters, to dry up with the sole of my foot all the streams of Egypt.

And I brought you into a plentiful land to enjoy its fruits and its good things. But when you came in, you defiled my land and made my heritage an abomination.

And if the family of Egypt does not go up and present themselves, then on them there shall be no rain;[6] there shall be the plague with which the LORD afflicts the nations that do not go up to keep the Feast of Booths.

But the land that you are going over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water by the rain from heaven,

and that you may live long in the land that the LORD swore to your fathers to give to them and to their offspring, a land flowing with milk and honey.

For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing out in the valleys and hills,
