"Yet you would not go up, but rebelled against the command of the LORD your God.

"But they and our fathers acted presumptuously and stiffened their neck and did not obey your commandments.

But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit; therefore he turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them.
