And after Herod searched for him and did not find him, he examined the sentries and ordered that they should be put to death. Then he went down from Judea to Caesarea and spent time there.
And the king commanded, and those men who had maliciously accused Daniel were brought and cast into the den of lions -- they, their children, and their wives. And before they reached the bottom of the den, the lions overpowered them and broke all their bones in pieces.
And the chief of the eunuchs gave them names: Daniel he called Belteshazzar, Hananiah he called Shadrach, Mishael he called Meshach, and Azariah he called Abednego.
And he went and found his body thrown in the road, and the donkey and the lion standing beside the body. The lion had not eaten the body or torn the donkey.
