And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple that is called the Beautiful Gate to ask alms of those entering the temple.

Jesus answered, "It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.

For the Father loves the Son and shows him all that he himself is doing. And greater works than these will he show him, so that you may marvel.

And all were astonished at the majesty of God. But while they were all marveling at everything he was doing, Jesus[4] said to his disciples,

And they were all amazed and said to one another, "What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!"

And when the men of that place recognized him, they sent around to all that region and brought to him all who were sick

The neighbors and those who had seen him before as a beggar were saying, "Is this not the man who used to sit and beg?"
