So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet shall be destroyed from the people.'

But many of those who had heard the word believed, and the number of the men came to about five thousand.

And Joseph sent and summoned Jacob his father and all his kindred, seventy-five persons in all.

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.

And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit,

because[4] they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.

The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became like the blood of a corpse, and every living thing died that was in the sea.
