These things you have done, and I have been silent; you thought that I[3] was one like yourself. But now I rebuke you and lay the charge before you.

The watchman says: "Morning comes, and also the night. If you will inquire, inquire; come back again."

They said to him, 'Because no one has hired us.' He said to them, 'You go into the vineyard too.'

"Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."

So they went out and proclaimed that people should repent.

No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish."

Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, "Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life."

In past generations he allowed all the nations to walk in their own ways.

For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription, 'To the unknown god.' What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you.

testifying both to Jews and to Greeks of repentance toward God and of faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out,

And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.

For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.

The time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry.
