Therefore my judgment is that we should not trouble those of the Gentiles who turn to God,

let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Take with you words and return to the LORD; say to him, "Take away all iniquity; accept what is good, and we will pay with bulls the vows[1] of our lips.

Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?

Since we have heard that some persons have gone out from us and troubled you[4] with words, unsettling your minds, although we gave them no instructions,

For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay on you no greater burden than these requirements:

and they have been told about you that you teach all the Jews who are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or walk according to our customs.

But as for the Gentiles who have believed, we have sent a letter with our judgment that they should abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and from blood, and from what has been strangled,[3] and from sexual immorality."

but declared first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all the region of Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, performing deeds in keeping with their repentance.

Yet because of false brothers secretly brought in -- who slipped in to spy out our freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might bring us into slavery --

For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,
