"I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision, something like a great sheet descending, being let down from heaven by its four corners, and it came down to me.

And when I looked, behold, a hand was stretched out to me, and behold, a scroll of a book was in it.

And he said, "Amos, what do you see?" And I said, "A basket of summer fruit." Then the LORD said to me, "The end[1] has come upon my people Israel; I will never again pass by them.

Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, "Ananias." And he said, "Here I am, Lord."

Now there was in Joppa a disciple named Tabitha, which, translated, means Dorcas.[3] She was full of good works and acts of charity.

Since Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men to him, urging him, "Please come to us without delay."

And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord.
