These are the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb-basshebeth a Tahchemonite; he was chief of the three.[5] He wielded his spear[6] against eight hundred whom he killed at one time.

And when David heard of it, he sent Joab and all the host of the mighty men.

But Zadok the priest and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada and Nathan the prophet and Shimei and Rei and David's mighty men were not with Adonijah.

Now these are the chiefs of David's mighty men, who gave him strong support in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel.
