And Amaziah said to the man of God, "But what shall we do about the hundred talents that I have given to the army of Israel?" The man of God answered, "The LORD is able to give you much more than this."

since you seek proof that Christ is speaking in me. He is not weak in dealing with you, but is powerful among you.

And not only that, but he has been appointed by the churches to travel with us as we carry out this act of grace that is being ministered by us, for the glory of the Lord himself and to show our good will.

for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.

But as you excel in everything -- in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you[2] -- see that you excel in this act of grace also.

You will be enriched in every way for all your generosity, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,

Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.

so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.

comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.

Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable,[3] he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.

that the man of God[2] may be competent, equipped for every good work.

who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.

And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful.

The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:
