And the LORD God made for Adam and for his wife garments of skins and clothed them.

You came down on Mount Sinai and spoke with them from heaven and gave them right rules and true laws, good statutes and commandments,

I long for your salvation, O LORD, and your law is my delight.

Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day.

The LORD said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain and wait there, that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction."

And he gave to Moses, when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.

And as soon as he came near the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, Moses' anger burned hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain.

The LORD said to Moses, "Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.

And gazing at him, all who sat in the council saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.[2]

For the law brings wrath, but where there is no law there is no transgression.

Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,

The very commandment that promised life proved to be death to me.

For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being,

For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death.

but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.

And you show that you are a letter from Christ delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.[2]

who has made us competent[3] to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

will not the ministry of the Spirit have even more glory?

For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, "Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them."

Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law.

And he declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments,[1] and he wrote them on two tablets of stone.

And what great nation is there, that has statutes and rules so righteous as all this law that I set before you today?

"These words the LORD spoke to all your assembly at the mountain out of the midst of the fire, the cloud, and the thick darkness, with a loud voice; and he added no more. And he wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.

So I turned and came down from the mountain, and the mountain was burning with fire. And the two tablets of the covenant were in my two hands.

For you have not come to what may be touched, a blazing fire and darkness and gloom and a tempest

For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses -- as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself.

having the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was a golden urn holding the manna, and Aaron's staff that budded, and the tablets of the covenant.
