But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

And David became greater and greater, for the LORD, the God of hosts, was with him.

but sought the God of his father and walked in his commandments, and not according to the practices of Israel.

He walked in the way of Asa his father and did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the LORD.

And a letter came to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, "Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father, 'Because you have not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat your father, or in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

He searched for Ahaziah, and he was captured while hiding in Samaria, and he was brought to Jehu and put to death. They buried him, for they said, "He is the grandson of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart." And the house of Ahaziah had no one able to rule the kingdom.

So Jotham became mighty, because he ordered his ways before the LORD his God.

And the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the LORD and served the Baals.

Whenever the LORD raised up judges for them, the LORD was with the judge, and he saved them from the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge. For the LORD was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who afflicted and oppressed them.

And the angel of the LORD appeared to him and said to him, "The LORD is with you, O mighty man of valor."

As soon as Gideon died, the people of Israel turned again and whored after the Baals and made Baal-berith their god.

Saul was afraid of David because the LORD was with him but had departed from Saul.

And David had success in all his undertakings, for the LORD was with him.

And David went out and was successful wherever Saul sent him, so that Saul set him over the men of war. And this was good in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul's servants.
