And when he humbled himself the wrath of the LORD turned from him, so as not to make a complete destruction. Moreover, conditions were good[1] in Judah.

Suppose there are fifty righteous within the city. Will you then sweep away the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous who are in it?

for he does not willingly afflict or grieve the children of men.

"We have transgressed and rebelled, and you have not forgiven.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,
