I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them.

to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life;

For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe.

To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.

Practice these things, devote yourself to them, so that all may see your progress.

If you put these things before the brothers,[1] you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine that you have followed.

Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom[1] you learned it

preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.

He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound[5] doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.

Declare these things; exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you.

Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity,

I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it -- to say nothing of your owing me even your own self.

See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no "root of bitterness" springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;

Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.

let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.
