The eye that mocks a father and scorns to obey a mother will be picked out by the ravens of the valley and eaten by the vultures.

"Both prophet and priest are ungodly; even in my house I have found their evil, declares the LORD.

And you, O profane[9] wicked one, prince of Israel, whose day has come, the time of your final punishment,

For anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother; his blood is upon him.

Brother will deliver brother over to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death,

slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents,

For the promise to Abraham and his offspring that he would be heir of the world did not come through the law but through the righteousness of faith.

Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,

For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.

Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring should come to whom the promise had been made, and it was put in place through angels by an intermediary.

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

envy,[4] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

" 'Cursed be anyone who dishonors his father or his mother.' And all the people shall say, 'Amen.'

And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.

Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness;

O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called "knowledge,"

But avoid irreverent babble, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness,

For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

For there are many who are insubordinate, empty talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision party.

They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work.

if anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife,[3] and his children are believers and not open to the charge of debauchery or insubordination.

For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another.

By faith Rahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had given a friendly welcome to the spies.

that no one is sexually immoral or unholy like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal.

So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,"[1]

because[4] they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water.

And "If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?"[3]

to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him."

But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
